Enoch Pugh was a farmer, father, some-time Quaker, concerned
citizen, and fighter.
During the Battle of Alamance, he demonstrated courage and expert sharpshooting ability.
He was executed by Governor Tryon in Hillsborough in June, 1771.
Enoch gave a passionate speech to the crowd from the gallows
before his untimely death.
He has been hanging around (in an unmarked grave) ever since
